Politis Group, with an emphasis on sustainability and improving the quality of life, supports the action of the Municipality of Athens for the European Week for Waste Reduction. The aim of this initiative is to inform and raise awareness of the public about the need to reduce food waste and adopt sustainable daily habits, with the central message: “Don’t feed the waste!”

Key Elements of the Campaign

The action focuses on the devastating consequences of food waste for the planet and suggests practical ways to reduce waste:

• Buying and consuming only the necessary amounts of food.

• Reusing leftovers in creative ways.

• Recycling organic waste through composting.

The campaign messages are projected through Politis Group’s state-of-the-art advertising media, such as digital billboards, placed in high-traffic areas of Athens.

Politis Group donates automated crossing systems to the Municipality of Kifissia

Politis Group, remains true to its commitment to improving urban safety and quality of life and has completed the donation and installation of three autonomous pedestrian crossing systems on Levidou Street, Kifissia. The new crossings, located at key points, are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and photovoltaic systems, enhancing visibility and safety. This initiative is part of the Group’s strategy for sustainable mobility and urban development, while encouraging micro-mobility, making Kifissia friendlier for residents and visitors. The President of the Group, Mr. Haris Politis, emphasized the importance of this action stating: “Our goal is to create a safer and more accessible environment for everyone.”

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Sfera 102.2!

A surprise awaited the listeners of Sfera 102,2 this morning.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the Politis Group radio station and gave a different interview.

The idea started when the radio producers of Sfera Morning suggested on air that they should talk to all the political leaders, gradually, starting with the Prime Minister, before the election period starts.

Contacting the Prime Minister’s associates at the Maximou Mansion for a telephone interview with him, Mitsotakis surprised them by proposing to come to the studio to talk live.

The Prime Minister, more reachable, relaxed and casual than ever, talked about his love for music and radio and became part of the Sfera 102.2 radio gang.

“I wake up at 6:45 every day. I try to exercise twice a week and generally I like to listen to music radio,” revealed Kyriakos Mitsotakis first and referring to his daily routine he said “I try once a week to go out to dinner with my wife” while when asked if he does chores at home he replied “As far as I can. Up to a light bulb… I know where the fuses are”.

The PM was asked about his favourite colour and replied “Blue in all shades, what else? Even though your studio’s colour is red, I feel welcome,” he said with a smile.

 Mitsotakis also answered a series of questions related to everyday life in the country, such as the new housing programme for young people up to 39 years old, the mechanisms to support households on the increases in energy prices, Covid and the pensions.  

After the end of the interview, the Prime Minister also visited the studio of Politis Group’s other music radio station, Music 89.2 and the show Kounavia with Fanis Lambropoulos, Eleni Voulgarakis and Dimitris Boumboulinis and played a fun game with them on air.

Politis Group represented Greece at the WOO Global Congress in Toronto, Canada

Politis Group, as a regular member of the World Out Of Home Organization (WOO), the global association of outdoor advertising companies, participated in the major annual WOO Global Congress held in Toronto, Canada from May 25th to 27th.

This internationally prestigious congress, which was held exclusively with physical presence, was attended by more than 400 delegates coming from 5 continents and the impressive technological developments and very high prospects of the outdoor advertising (OOH) industry were discussed.

Among the conclusions of the conference was that we are rapidly entering the “new Golden Age” of outdoor advertising and that both the development and geographic expansion of digital billboards and the provision of reliable metrics based on industry best practices are crucial to highlight the value of the medium.

Indication of the mobility observed in the industry to share best practices and coordinate on the creative challenges presented is the visit of the President of the World Out Of Home Organization (WOO), Mr. Tom Goddard, to the Politis Group headquarters in Greece.

In his meeting with Politis Group CEO, Mr. Haris Politis, the WOO President had the opportunity to learn about the important developments in OOH in Greece and shared his expectations for global developments in the industry, that has been at the center of advertising attention with the transition to the digital era.

Politis Group, we note that apart from holding a leading position in the Greek market, it also has a growing presence in Cyprus and is already implementing a digital transformation program for its operations through partnerships with the world’s largest suppliers of specialized software systems and automation in outdoor.
